Our free Essentials course has been designed by experts for anyone new to the latest version of ARCHICAD. No matter what your background, ARCHICAD Essentials Training gives you the confidence to work on projects immediately.

 

This course introduces you to the principles of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and shows you positive and productive ways of using ARCHICAD. Not only will it equip you with the knowledge and confidence to use the program efficiently, but it will also include a mixture of instructions, exercises, discussions, and assessments to help trainees understand BIM and develop skills in ARCHICAD.

ARCHICAD Essentials
2 hrs.
Course objectives - what will you gain?
  • Ensure trainees understand the advantages of Building Information Modelling

  • How to set up and manage projects from large to small

  • The functionality of ARCHICAD's principal Tools

  • Introduction to BIM - Explaining the background and principles of BIM

  • ARCHICAD Theory - Principles of ARCHICAD and working methods

  • ARCHICAD workspace - Palettes and tool-bars, origin, scale, preferences

  • Project Setup - Stories, Layers, file types, autosave function

  • Attributes - Creating attributes, Building Materials, Composites and Surfaces

  • Element placement and selection - Walls, slabs, windows, doors

  • Element settings and editing - Walls, slabs, windows, doors

Our Intermediate 6-session course has been designed by experts for anyone with a knowledge of the latest version of ARCHICAD who wishes to increase their understanding of the tools and facilities provided by the software, which was not initially covered in the Essentials course.​​

Filled with tips and tricks, it will show you the most productive ways to use all ARCHICAD’s tools. It will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to use the program quickly and effectively.

The course will also show you how to get the most from ARCHICAD and the Building Information Model and the importance of establishing Office standards and procedures.

Zones
  • Zones are an important tool, using a small example, project Zones will be added, looking at the controls available, different geometry methods and the reasons for using each.

  • We look at standards for Zone categories, creating and allocating zone categories, stamps, and Zones in 3D.

Schedule
  • Scheduling data from a model is a crucial aspect of BIM. Only by Scheduling directly from the BIM can consistent and up to date data be ensured.

  • We look at adding the correct data to elements for scheduling, controlling IDs, configuring Scheme settings to give the results required, selecting the fields to schedule and alternatives for publishing the information.
